You enjoy to know the basic (very little) calculus (basically, 1st yr calculus). That’s for the unsophisticated economics class you need to purloin. The calculus is applied to the total revenue, total cost, minimum cost, minimum revenue, marginal cost, marginal revenue, etc. Source(s):I’m almost done with my accounting scope.

For an accounting degree, the number of required math courses really depends on the university you go to.Where I go, there be only two required math courses, one be basic calculus and the other be random. While you don’t inevitability to know much beyond addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (and even afterwards we have computers and calculators to do most of the actual work), the qualifications to understand how the numbers within the income statement or balance sheet relate to respectively other is very significant. In short, math itself is not that important, but kind-hearted the relationships between different elements is. I think adjectives you need to know is how to count your fingers and toes.
